01 / Services

Design. Project Management. Coordination. Delivery.

Backer's role in defence procurement is the intellectual and coordination work — engineering specifications, project planning, supplier coordination, quality oversight, and end-to-end documentation. Production happens through a network of qualified Canadian manufacturers under Backer's accountability. One contract, one warranty, one Canadian point of contact.

03 / About

Canadian-owned. Edmonton-built. Since 2008.

Backer is a privately-held Canadian corporation headquartered in South Edmonton, Alberta. Day-to-day operations are led by Ashley Brennan (BCom · CPA candidate · former Deloitte M&A) as President and operational executive. Kelso Brennan (MBA · PMP · ICD.D, LL.M. in progress) is a principal and owner providing strategic and governance counsel; his full-time professional commitments lie with an adjacent Canadian manufacturer. Backer's principal manufacturing partnership is with that adjacent firm, supported by additional Canadian manufacturers as project requirements warrant. All Backer commitments — bids, contracts, warranties, deliverables — are made by Backer Inc. on its own corporate authority.

Bring us a real requirement.

A specification, a part number, a program need, a sustainment gap, an ITB credit shortfall, an allied procurement initiative — anything concrete enough to have a real conversation about. We'll either tell you we can coordinate it, tell you what we'd need to coordinate it, or tell you who you should call instead.
